Virtual Event Series @ the 2020 Democratic National Convention
August 17 – 20, 2020
Featuring Brad Smith, President of Microsoft, NewDEAL Leaders and other elected officials, national experts and policy innovators from the public and private sectors, this roundtable will showcase actions that can and are being taken at the state and local levels to address climate change and transition to a low carbon economy. The event will include the release of the NewDEAL Forum’s Climate Change Working Group’s recommendations to reduce emissions, promote resiliency, invest in climate equity, and broaden support for climate action.
Join elected officials and private and public sector leaders for a discussion about rebuilding the nation’s economy in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Touching on issues critical to economic recovery such as increasing access to affordable housing and broadband, supporting entrepreneurs and local economic development, and strengthening the social safety net, we’ll also examine opportunities to remedy long-standing inequities that have discriminated against people of color in these areas.
With Joe Biden accepting the Democratic nomination, join national political experts and NewDEAL Leaders from swing states for a discussion about the current national political landscape and what it will take to be successful in November. The program will touch on congressional and other key races and the unique challenges of campaigning in 2020.
