Ashley Aune is the Missouri House Minority Leader, leading House Democrats in one of the nation’s most Republican-controlled state legislatures. First elected in 2020, she served as House Democratic Caucus Whip before being elected Minority Leader in 2024. Aune is known for her pragmatic, center-left approach to governing and her belief that durable progress comes from finding common ground without compromising core Democratic values. As leader of the super minority, she has built a reputation for advancing commonsense solutions, forging bipartisan coalitions, and delivering meaningful results in a deeply divided political environment.

Aune has built her legislative career around innovation, economic growth, protecting democracy, and individual liberty. She served three years as Ranking Minority Member of the House Emerging Issues Committee, co-led passage of the Missouri Cybersecurity Act, serves on the Missouri Military Preparedness and Enhancement Commission, and is Co-Chair of the Missouri Chamber Technology Caucus, where she works alongside business leaders to strengthen Missouri’s innovation economy. In 2026, she successfully led bipartisan legislation allowing Missouri women to finalize divorces during pregnancy, ending a decades-old legal restriction.
