State Representative Mai Xiong serves Michigan’s 13th House District, representing the communities of Roseville, St. Clair Shores, and Warren. Xiong sits on the House Committees on Election Integrity and on Families and Veterans, where she focuses on strengthening democratic participation and supporting women and children and those who serve.

A Hmong refugee who came to the United States as a child with her family, Xiong’s personal story is rooted in resilience and opportunity. She is the daughter of a Vietnam War veteran, a small business owner, and a former Macomb County Commissioner. These experiences inform her advocacy for immigrant and refugee families, military service members, and entrepreneurs who contribute to Michigan’s diverse economy. She has been a consistent voice for clean air and water, affordable childcare, strong schools, and policies that strengthen family and community well-being. She is also active in efforts to bolster Michigan’s economic competitiveness and workforce, championing legislation to retain and recruit public workers and making healthcare more accessible

In addition to her legislative role, Xiong is a mother of four young children. Grounded in her lived experience and dedication to public service, Xiong continues to champion policies that create opportunity and fairness for all Michigan families.
