

Jeff Danielson

Jeff Danielson served as a State Senator in Iowa from 2004 to 2019. Jeff has a passion for making government work well and work for the people. He led Iowa’s government efficiency efforts, responsible for nearly $300 million per year in cost savings, helping Iowa weather the recession with a balanced budget and historically high reserves. Significant accomplishments in the efforts included hiring Iowa’s first Chief Information Officer, consolidating technology resources, and streamlining the state government workforce. Jeff has also helped to guide progressive election law changes in Iowa, like same-day registration, vote by mail, voter-verified paper trail. He drafted and managed the nation’s first campaign finance law in response to the U.S. Supreme Court’s Citizens United ruling in 2010.
Jeff is previously served as a professional firefighter and an adjunct professor of public policy at the University of Northern Iowa. Currently, he is Central Region Director at American Wind Energy Association.
