Brenna O’Brien

Fellow

Brenna O’Brien works with the NewDEAL as a winter 2023 Fellow. Brenna is in her fourth year at the University of California, San Diego majoring in Environmental Systems with a minor in Urban Studies and Planning. Originally from Oceanside, CA, Brenna currently lives in Washington, D.C. as a participant in the University of California Washington program.

Brenna is excited to begin contributing to NewDEAL projects, including helping mange the organization’ social media and climate policy initiatives. Previously, Brenna worked at the Scripps Institute of Oceanography in La Jolla, CA reviewing and organizing marine invertebrate databases, as well as at the nonprofit Tree San Diego researching San Diego Climate Action Plans and urban forestry initiatives.
