Louisiana Senator Royce Duplessis Advances Legislation to Combat Rising Property Insurance Costs

Louisiana Senator Royce Duplessis is advancing legislation to provide assistance to eligible households struggling to cover rising property insurance costs. Duplessis aims to target assistance to homeowners  who make less than 200% of the poverty level, such as seniors on fixed incomes, and give them immediate assistance in the form of a tax credit. “This is one of the very few instruments right now that I’m aware of this session that are trying to provide some direct relief to people suffering through high homeowners insurance premiums,” said Duplessis.
