Nevada Assemblymember Sandra Jauregui is championing a package of housing legislation to meaningfully address the housing crisis in the state. The bills aim to protect residents and provide tenant protections while also expanding affordable housing development. Jauregui’s bills propose capping rent increases for seniors and Social Security recipients, and streamlining housing development on commercial-zoned properties. “This session, Nevada has the opportunity to enact meaningful housing legislation for the betterment of Nevadans,” said Jauregui, during a press conference in Carson City. “Gov. Lombardo’s previous vetoes may try to block our progress, but they will not deter us.”
