Nevada Employee Savings Trust (NEST)
Idea Category: Economic Opportunity & Affordability
State Treasurer Zach Conine announced the early success of the newly launched Nevada Employee Savings Trust (NEST), an auto-IRA program for workers whose employers don’t offer retirement plans. More than 20,500 Nevadans have already been enrolled, with participation expected to grow. Conine emphasized that the program makes saving for retirement “really, really easy,” particularly for gig workers and those with multiple jobs, as participants are automatically enrolled and can seamlessly contribute a portion of their paycheck.
