San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg’s 10-year Strategic Housing Implementation Plan is being hailed as a comprehensive plan to keep San Antonio affordable, as one of the few major cities where middle-income residents can afford a majority of homes on the market. The plan includes a voter-approved housing bond to invest in building new units, repairing older homes, and incentivizing affordable housing construction. “There’s an enormous amount we can do,” Mayor Nirenberg said. “We can have a big impact in a relatively short period of time by focusing on the tools we have at our disposal.”
