Angelica Salinas

Routt County Commissioner, Routt County, CO

Angelica Salinas resides in Oak Creek, in South Routt County, Colorado, and serves as Routt County Commissioner and Chair Pro-Tem of the Board of County Commissioners. The youngest person and the first Latina elected to the seat, she holds one of three votes governing a $135 million budget for a rural mountain community of roughly 25,000 residents, with a focus on affordable housing, early childhood, rural healthcare, public safety, and economic development. She led the effort to establish the South Routt Housing Authority and now chairs it, is building a permanent Early Childhood Investment Fund to close the county’s childcare gap, and authorized Routt County’s first Mental Health Response Team pairing law enforcement with clinical care. The governor appointed her to the Colorado Workforce Development Council to represent local elected officials. Angelica is proud to call Routt County home.
