Michelle Paulene Abeyta
Representative, To’hajiilee, NM
Michelle Paulene Abeyta, an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation, resides in To’hajiilee, New Mexico, with her husband Chad, a USAF Veteran, and their children. She is a New Mexico State Representative for House District 69. Her district embraces a diverse population that includes nine Navajo Chapters, three Pueblos, the city of Grants, and rural communities in a land base over 3.4 million acres. Her legislative work includes serving on the House Energy, Environment & Natural Resources Committee and the House Judiciary Committee. She is a graduate of the University of Arizona College of Law. She currently serves on the Navajo Nation Board of Bar Commissioners and practices law in the Courts of the Navajo Nation where many people lack access to legal representation and justice. Her legislative record demonstrates her ability to run legislation on a variety of issues that not only impact her district but can improve the state overall.
