Natalia Macker
County Commissioner | Teton County, WY
Natalia D. Macker has served on the Teton County Board of Commissioners since 2015, including as Chairwoman from 2019-2022. Her record demonstrates a commitment to rural healthcare solutions, support for women and working families, and a focus on balancing economic development with ecosystem stewardship. While she has been in office, the county has developed its first affordable housing supply plan and supported the delivery of hundreds of deed-restricted housing units, developed and begun implementation of a countywide water quality management plan, expanded funding for human services, and secured funding for wildlife crossings. Currently, Commissioner Macker is helping lead an early childhood education initiative she spearheaded.
Macker’s service extends beyond the borders of Teton County. She was elected President of the Wyoming County Commissioner’s Association (WCCA). She previously served as statewide chair of the Health, Safety, and Social Services committee for the WCCA, including work on Wyoming’s first statewide health needs assessment. She is a gubernatorial appointee to the Wyoming Community College Commission, the Land Quality Advisory Board, and the Wyoming Council for Women (which she chairs). As the youngest member and only woman on the commission, Macker collaborates with several Wyoming-based organizations to secure the economic future of Wyoming women and families. This includes helping propose pregnant workers fairness legislation, championing gender wage gap solutions at the state and local level, and implementation of suicide and substance abuse prevention infrastructure.
Commissioner Macker was recognized by her WCCA colleagues with the 2019 Riding for the Brand award for “commissioner of the year” for her outstanding service to counties and the state — the first woman to receive the award. She was included in the Wyoming Business Report’s 40 Under 40 and recognized as Woman of Influence in the Government/Economic Development category in 2021. In 2020, she received the Ruby Award from the Soroptimists of Jackson Hole for her service to women. She holds a BA cum laude from Yale University.
Outside of public service, Macker is the Producing Artistic Director of Off Square Theatre Company, a professional theatre company based in Jackson. She loves to spend time on the water and in the woods with her husband and three sons.
