Ella O’Connor
Fellow
Ella O’Connor is currently a NewDEAL Fellow. Ella is also currently a sophomore at Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service, where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in International Politics. At Georgetown, Ella is the Senior Opinion Editor for The Hoya, Georgetown’s newspaper of record since 1920, and she is the Sophomore Class Representative for the School of Foreign Service Academic Council, advocating for student interests.
Beyond serving as a NewDEAL fellow, Ella works for the Free Speech Project, helping the project’s mission of documenting and analyzing threats to free speech throughout the United States. She previously served as an Admissions Mentor for EducationUSA Ukraine, guiding Ukrainian high school students through the U.S. college admissions process, and gained campaign experience as an intern for John Avlon for Congress and Dave Calone for Suffolk County Executive. She looks forward to supporting the NewDEAL team!
