Melodie Barrau

Melodie Barrau is an incoming summer fellow for the NewDEAL. Originally from West Palm Beach, Florida, she studied Political Communication at The George Washington University, where she recently graduated with her Bachelor of Arts and a minor in Law and Society.

During her time at GW, Melodie served as student staff at the Multicultural Student Services Center and is an alumna of the Women’s Leadership Program. Her professional experience spans the intersection of policy and communications, including internships with Congresswoman Lois Frankel’s office, a strategic communications firm, a nonprofit, and a gubernatorial campaign. A first-generation bilingual daughter of Haitian immigrants, Melodie is deeply committed to supporting Democratic leaders who create meaningful change for their constituents and communities.
