NewDEAL Alumna’s Impact in Georgia

Ever since losing her gubernatorial bid in 2018, NewDEAL Alumna Stacey Abrams has been working tirelessly to combat voter suppression in her state. In 2020, those efforts paid off in a big way. Abrams’ network of organizations registered an estimated 800,000 voters in the leadup to the 2020 election. With Joe Biden up by an estimated 14,000 votes, Abrams is receiving widespread praise for delivering the state for Democrats for the first time since 1992. Read this New York Times profile for more on her efforts.
