NewDEAL Leader Councilmember Derek Green's city of Philadelphia was recently announced as the latest member of the City Accelerator, a program in partnership with Living Cities and Citi Foundation to promote the spread of promising innovative policies that will have a significant impact on residents' lives. Philadelphia's City Accelerator project will build on work Councilmember Green started earlier this year to enhance diversity in city procurement and use city purchasing power to build up businesses owned by people of color.
