Representative Andy Vargas introduced the PROTECT Act in response to the 30+ ICE enforcement incidents that occurred in the District Court. The legislation would establish a statewide rule against civil immigration arrests in or around Massachusetts courthouses, or while someone is traveling to or from court, unless there is a judicial warrant or court order signed by a judge.
