WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, NewDEAL (Developing Exceptional American Leaders) launched The Roadmap, a new Substack publication that will serve as the premier platform for rising, innovative state and local Democratic voices who are driving winning political strategies and policy solutions across the country. The Roadmap will offer timely insights, policy solutions, and frontline perspectives that highlight the future of the Democratic Party from the ground up.

Curated by NewDEAL and featuring regular contributions from its network of rising state and local leaders — including mayors, legislators, and statewide officials — The Roadmap will showcase how bold, pragmatic policies are being implemented across the country. The publication will also spotlight how these trailblazers are meeting the moment with winning strategies and solutions to protect democracy, grow the middle class, and make government work for all Americans.

“At a time when national politics feels stuck, The Roadmap is about looking to where progress is actually happening — in cities and states led by innovative, results-driven Democrats. This platform will showcase the leaders and ideas shaping the future of the Party from the ground up.” said Debbie Cox Bultan, CEO of NewDEAL.

Key features of The Roadmap include perspectives from rising leaders on:

  • What it will take for Democrats to win (back) their districts and states;
  • Their big ideas to make government work better and deliver results, featuring ideas on housing, clean energy, AI, and more
  • The real world impacts Trump Administration and how they are responding;
  • Commentary defending and strengthening democracy

The publications will also feature key takeaways from NewDEAL’s podcast, An Honorable Profession, featuring leading Democratic thinkers and practitioners.

Subscribers can expect weekly posts that uplift fresh policy ideas, share compelling stories of governance, and provide smart analysis of the Democratic landscape beyond the beltway.
