First elected to the Arizona House of Representatives in 2008, Dr. Meyer represented the residents of District 11 and served until 2017. Eric earned an economics degree from the University of Southern California and a medical degree from the University of Arizona Medical School. Extensive recognition during his term includes:

• Legislator of the Year, Arizona School Boards Association, 2011
• 100% score, “Who’s for Kids and Who’s Just Kidding?” report card, Children’s Action Alliance, 2011 and 2012
He believes strong public schools are the bedrock of Arizona’s future. Eight years of service as a school board member have led to deep knowledge of our schools’ needs. Eric helped improve academic achievement and rigor across his district, increase graduation requirements, expand class offerings, protect teachers’ salaries and ensure that every student is prepared for success in college and in life.
His background in economics, education, and medicine gives him the tools to address the challenges facing Arizona. He will balance the budget in a sensible way, identify ways to diversify and strengthen our economy, and create jobs to get Arizona back on track.
