Elected in 2022, Phil serves as State Representative for Georgia House District 59, representing parts of Atlanta and East Point. Professionally, Phil is the Executive Director of Next Generation Men & Women, an education nonprofit that creates pathways of opportunity for underresourced students to graduate prepared for college and career. Prior to that, Phil served as the Director of Performance Management at WorkSource Atlanta and as a United States Peace Corps Volunteer in the Philippines.
Phil is the former Summerhill neighborhood President, a 2021 Georgia Trend 40 Under 40 and 2020 Atlanta Business Chronicle 40 under Forty honoree. Phil graduated from Duke University in 2007 and received a Masters in Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School of Government in 2014. Raised in Stone Mountain, Phil is a proud son of Nigerian and Colombian immigrants. He has seen the barriers facing families up close — lack of access to educational opportunity, economic security and quality healthcare. And as a husband and father, Phil believes in strong leadership that can meet people where they are today, fully represent their experiences, and build for a better future.
