Declan O’Shea

Fellow

Declan O’Shea works as a Social Media Fellow with the NewDEAL, where he tracks social media and news updates, drafts social media posts and policy blurbs, and assists in outreach efforts to promote the innovative work of our 200+ leaders across the country. He grew up in Scottsdale, Arizona and is currently a junior at The George Washington University. He is double majoring in Political Science and Economics and had coursework ranging from state and urban policy and welfare policy, to monetary policy and econometrics.

Declan was previously a Field Organizer for the Arizona Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee, where he planned and executed voter contact events to help elect leaders focused on improving public education and protecting Arizona’s water supply. He was also a Congressional Intern for the Office of Congressman Ruben Gallego (D-AZ-03), where he drafted press releases and constituent letters communicating the Congressman’s activities, announcements, and stances on a variety of policy topics.
