Jared DeWese

Press Secretary

One of Jared DeWese’s earliest memories is spending time with his Father on Sunday mornings watching Tim Russert’s Meet the Press. What was a weekly Father-Son ritual grew to become a personal commitment to furthering Democracy and a desire to work in positions that help expand access and opportunity for all Americans.

Before joining NewDEAL as its first Press Secretary, Jared was the Deputy Communications Director for the David Trone U.S. Senate Campaign in Maryland. But Jared is no stranger to NewDEAL Leaders, before the Trone Campaign he often partnered with us when he was the Deputy Director for Communications for Third Way’s Climate and Energy Program. Jared is a native of South Carolina, and as an undergraduate student at South Carolina State University, he interned for Congressman John Spratt (D-SC). He holds a Master of Arts degree in Political Communications from American University. He is also a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., a 2002 Alpha Lamda initiate.
