Thirteen NewDEAL Leaders joined with a bipartisan group of  state legislators from twenty-eight states to urge the Trump Administration to advance the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment and Digital Equity (BEAD) program from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law without changes or delay. In a letter this week, they argue that the programs have already made significant progress and that imposing new federal requirements at this stage could undermine state authorities, delay broadband deployments for years, and ultimately leave underserved communities behind.

NewDEAL Leaders signed on include, NewDEAL Forum Broadband co-chair Sen. Jay Chaudhuri (NC); Rep. Jeremy Gray (AL); Sen. Scott Kawasaki (AK); Sen. Clarke Tucker (AR); Sen. Josh Becker (CA);  Sen. Bob Duff (CT);  Rep. Kate Farrar (CT); Rep. Tram T. Nguyen (MA); Sen. Pavel M. Payano (MA); Sen. Sam Singh (MI); Asm. Sandra Jauregui (NV); Sen. Josh Boschee (ND); and Sen. Marko Liias (WA).
