This week, Pittsburgh Councilmember Erika Strassburger released a draft document to guide public safety reform efforts, highlighting city, county, and state-level legislation already in place or in progress, and outlining her vision for "creating communities where everyone is safe and free." The document reflects input from the general public and issue experts, and Strassburger is seeking further public comment to improve it with the goal of publishing a second version that would guide police reform in Pittsburgh, as well as advocacy for changes at other levels of government.
