REPRODUCTIVE FREEDOM - Michigan: Senator Mallory McMorrow has championed a nine bill package, called the Reproductive Health Act, which passed the Senate this week and is now headed to Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's desk. Following the constitutional amendment approved by voters last November guaranteeing a right to abortion, the legislation aims to remove remaining barriers to abortion access in Michigan, particularly in parts of the state where it has been the least available and accessible. “The Reproductive Health Act is going to remove a lot of arbitrary hurdles that are standing in the way of women accessing abortion care,” McMorrow said after the bills passed the state Senate.
