HOUSING - California: Orange County Supervisor Vicente Sarmiento is partnering with the City of Anaheim to transform a motel into permanent supportive housing for former foster youth who are now experiencing homelessness. Using state funds, the city purchased a 32-room motel and plans to invest $2 million in its renovation. The conversion, expected to be completed by 2025, will provide affordable studio apartments and stable housing for young adults who have experienced the foster care system, offering a cost-effective solution to address homelessness.
