Emma Vonder Haar serves at the NewDEAL as a 2024 Spring Fellow. She supports the team by drafting social media content, videos, and podcasts; tracking Education policy; and researching Leader nominations.

Emma is a sophomore working towards her B.A. in Government and American Studies with a minor in Environmental Studies from Georgetown University. She is originally from Louisville, Kentucky. Prior to joining the NewDEAL, she served as a Program Development Intern at the Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet, where she helped research and draft regulations and reports. She has also served as DEI-HR Director for the Georgetown University College Democrats, Georgetown Environmental Studies Program Assistant, and a Students Demand Action Chapter Leader both in Louisville and at Georgetown. Emma hopes to continue working in implementing progressive public policy.
